Creative Development | Update# 39

The first thing I want to share is that while progress might be moving at a pace that’s more of a stroll than a sprint, the result is nothing short of superb. It’s a reminder that in the world of animation, perfection is a gradual evolution – a journey where every step taken is a step towards excellence.

The heart of this progress lies in the animation artifact that’s been taking shape before my eyes. Each frame, each movement, and every detail contribute to the symphony of storytelling that’s playing out on my canvas. And let me tell you, the visual spectacle that’s unfolding is nothing short of captivating.

I’ve found myself immersed in a world of experimentation, particularly within the realm of After Effects. Textures, techniques, and effects have become my playground as I strive to infuse each scene with a unique touch that resonates with the narrative. The beauty of experimentation lies in the unexpected discoveries – those moments when a technique you’ve never tried before yields stunning results.

However, there’s a twist in this tale. Time, that ever-elusive companion, has been tapping its foot impatiently. With a mere three weeks left until the finish line, some scenes are reluctantly finding their place on the cutting room floor. It’s a tough decision, one that’s not made lightly, but it’s a decision that keeps the bigger picture in mind.

The world of animation is a canvas where creativity flows boundlessly, but it’s also a realm where deadlines are a reality. As much as I’d love to craft every scene to perfection, the constraints of time remind me that sometimes we need to make choices that allow us to present the best version of our work within the given timeframe. There were some not so complicated shot so instead of adding a smear I went with an anime style approach and added speed lines, they worked even better than I believed them to be

But fear not! Those scenes that are temporarily set aside are not forgotten. They’re earmarked for the future, waiting to be lovingly woven into the animation tapestry once the clock isn’t ticking so loudly. It’s a promise to myself – an assurance that my creative visions will see the light of day when the time is right.

As I share this work-in-progress update with you, I’m reminded of the beauty of transparency in creative journeys. The journey isn’t always a sprint towards the finish line; it’s often a dance of progress and compromise. It’s a testament to the fact that every decision, every experiment, and every creative choice is a step towards the realization of our artistic aspirations.
